Hi! I’m Sriraksha (Raksha) and welcome to my corner of the internet!

Pratyakṣa means knowing something through direct perception. I’m treating this as a nook to explore and expand upon mine.

My interests lie in understanding the priors from which our current milieu of ideas and sense making apparatus has emerged, how culture and institutions get constituted, how this feeds into our visual perception and meaning making, and filtered into artificial intelligence and how we instrumentalize it. My interests are pretty wide ranging within art, technology, philosophy, and culture.

This curiousity has loosesly guided the direction of my work. I started out in electrical engineering and gradually became fascinated by colour science, image quality and the strange business of making machines “see.” Today, I work with pixels and image sensors, tinkering with how cameras capture and represent the world.

The artwork scattered across this page is a small experiment in perception, based on Gestalt Principles. I am curious about the impression they can provide collectively, and how we can direct attention with that. I also play with a similarish idea in my photography, loosely borrowing from Impressionism and using Instagram as my medium.

In my spare time, I love philosophizing, photography, writing, cinema, cooking, and can never say no to a meandering walk.
